About Therapy with Nanette

I bring my full self to this work. I am clinically trained, creatively grounded, and genuinely invested in the people I work with.

My approach is integrative, which means I tailor it to you. I pay attention to what is happening in your thoughts and in your body, and we adjust the pace and depth based on what is actually useful. Some sessions are more practical and focused. Others go deeper into patterns, history, and meaning. Most are a mix.

I work with people navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship patterns, and experiences that are not always easy to put into words.

I am active in the process. I ask questions, share observations, and help you make sense of things in a way that feels clear and grounded. At the same time, I respect your pace. There is no pressure to force insight or push past something before you are ready.

I take the therapeutic relationship seriously. The connection we build is not just a backdrop to the work. It is a meaningful part of the process. A space where you can be honest, feel understood, and over time, relate to yourself differently.

About Me

I’m a California-trained therapist now based in Chicago. I am licensed in California, Illinois, and Arizona and see clients via telehealth across all three states.

I bring a background in the arts, cross-cultural experience, and a genuine curiosity about people that goes beyond the clinical. I have an MA in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Drama Therapy and a previous MA in Women’s Spirituality.

In addition to my private practice, I offer workshops and trainings and am a sometimes contributor as a mental health expert on a lifestyle show.

Outside of work, I live with my husband and two dogs. I love to read, cook, dance, see art and theater, and spend time in nature. I’m happiest when I’m in the middle of a creative project.
