ADHD
ADHD does not always look the way people expect it to.
A lot of the people I work with are capable, thoughtful, and used to figuring things out on their own. They may have done well in school or built successful careers, but underneath that, things can feel inconsistent, overwhelming, or harder than they should be.
You might notice patterns like:
- difficulty starting or finishing tasks, even when you care about them
- cycles of hyperfocus followed by burnout
- feeling scattered, forgetful, or constantly behind
- relying on pressure or urgency to get things done
- overthinking, frustration, or self-criticism about things that seem “simple” for others
For many people, ADHD is not just about attention. It is also about regulation.
That can include:
- managing overwhelm
- shifting focus when you are stuck
- navigating emotional intensity or frustration
- working with a nervous system that does not respond well to pressure, even when pressure is what you rely on
In our work together, we look at both the practical and underlying pieces.
Sometimes that means building systems that actually fit how your brain works. Sometimes it means understanding the patterns you have developed over time and how they are impacting your day-to-day life. Often, it includes working with the cycle of pressure, avoidance, and burnout in a way that is more sustainable.
We also pay attention to the internal experience. Many people with ADHD carry a lot of self-criticism or feel like they are constantly falling short, even when they are doing a lot. That piece matters just as much as any external strategy.
My approach is collaborative and tailored. We focus on what is actually useful for you, not what you feel like you “should” be able to do.
The goal is not to force yourself into a system that does not work. It is to understand how you function and build ways of working with that, rather than against it. You have probably already tried harder. This is about trying differently.
