Trauma Therapy
Trauma is not just something you remember. It is something your nervous system holds.
Even when you understand what happened, your body can still respond as if it is ongoing. That might show up as feeling on edge, shutting down, becoming overwhelmed quickly, or having reactions that do not fully make sense in the moment.
These are not random. They are patterns your system developed to protect you.
Healing is not about forcing yourself to think differently or pushing through those responses. It is about helping your nervous system experience a greater sense of safety, both internally and in the world around you.
In our work together, we focus on building that sense of safety in a way that is steady and sustainable.
We pay attention to how your nervous system responds. What feels activating, what feels settling, and what helps create a little more space and flexibility in your reactions. Over time, this allows your system to access its own natural capacity for regulation and restoration.
From there, we can begin to organize and make sense of past experiences. Not by reliving everything, but by working with them in a way that allows them to be processed and released rather than continually reactivated.
This process is collaborative and paced. There is no pressure to go faster than your system is ready for.
The goal is not to erase what happened. It is to help you feel more grounded in yourself, more able to move through your life with choice, and less driven by patterns that were shaped in a different time.
